A steady start - Norwegian salmon was selling at £7 per kilo last week

The spot price for market-setting Norwegian farmed salmon was NOK 95.45 (£7.02) per kilo in week 1 of 2026. That is down NOK 3.48 from the closing week in 2025, and is a full NOK 34.05 (£2.50) per kilo below week 1 last year.

According to the Norwegian Seafood Council, Norway exported 18,819 tonnes (round weight) in week 1, which is 13% more than in week 1 a year ago.

As of week 49 2025, 2.19 million tonnes of salmon and trout feed had been sold. That is 8% more than in the same period in 2024.
