Free webinar focuses on fish killing RAS gas

Published Last updated

A free webinar exploring current knowledge of hydrogen sulphide (H2S) in salmon aquaculture is to be held in March. The gas can be a problem in land-based fish farms and has been the cause of fish die-offs.

The webinar is organised by the H2Salar project run by Norwegian food research institute Nofima and will be conducted in English. The main results from the project will be presented, and there will be invited speakers from outside the project consortium who will present results relevant to the topic.

The webinar will be held from 08:00-11:00 GMT on Thursday, March 21, and there will be three sessions:

  • Prevalence and production of H2S in recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS)
  • Physiology and immunology of H2S
  • Tools and mitigation strategies

The deadline for registration is February 16. Those wishing to join can register here.
