Warmer water impacts Grieg Seafood's Q3 salmon harvest
Salmon farmer Grieg Seafood – which has agreed to sell its operations in Finnmark in Norway, and in Canada to Cermaq - harvested approximately 6,800 gutted weight tonnes from its continuing operations in Rogaland, Norway, in the third quarter of 2025 was GWT.
The harvest volume was approximately 1,200 tonnes below guidance, which Grieg attributed to elevated seawater temperatures during the period.
In a trading update, the company said long-term fish welfare and optimisation of maximum biomass allowanaces remain priorities, and added that earlier harvesting this quarter from cost-intensive sites is expected to position the company for Q4 and into 2026.
The complete Q3 2025 report will be released on November 13.
