Benchmark has been named in the London Stock Exchange Group’s 1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain report in each of the six years it has been produced.

Scotland’s smallest salmon farmer, Wester Ross Fisheries, and its largest, Mowi Scotland, are also named in the report.

In a statement on the company’s website, Benchmark CEO Malcolm Pye said: “It’s an honour to be included in the report for the sixth consecutive year and is a testament to the calibre of our global team.

‘Grown significantly’

“We have grown significantly over the last six years. The expertise and experience we now have in place across the Group – coupled with our focus on genetics, nutrition, health products and knowledge and data services – puts us in a strong position to lead the way for a sustainable future in aquaculture.”

The Stock Exchange report is a celebration of the UK’s fastest growing and most dynamic small and medium sized businesses (SMEs), with companies representing over 40 sectors and spanning every country and region across the UK.

To be selected for the list, businesses had to demonstrate not only positive revenue growth over the last three years but also outperform their sector peers.
