Vaccines for salmon stable at a 240 million doses a year level
For the first quarter 2009 51.6 million salmon were vaccinated and at the same level as in 2008 (52.5 million doses). The vaccination of salmon, measured over a twelve month period, has leveled out close to 240 million fish a year. The sales of PD vaccine in March 2009 were 200,000 doses compared to 700,000 doses in March 2008.For the last two months the sales of vaccines for cod indicate a slight downward trend. Compared to full year 2008 there is an expected decrease in the production of cod juveniles for 2009. This needs to be seen in relation to today's current market situation for Norwegian farmed cod, reports Pharmaq..
