US market remains buoyant

The average price represents a 1.9 per cent or 8 cents increase compared to the previous week. However it is 10.6 per cent lower than the price observed in the same week of 2014 (US$ 4.79) and 2.3 per cent lower than that seen in the same week of 2013 (US$ 4.38).

According to the weekly report published by SalmonEx, the Brazilian market price experienced a slight decrease. Fish of 10-12lb (~4.5-5.4kg), being the most representative, fell to US$ 5.86/kg, 2 cents lower than the previous week.

In the Japanese market, the average price of coho salmon went down by ¥ 10 while the price of trout remained unchanged. The first one fetched ¥ 590 (US$ ~4.97)/kg, while the second species averaged ¥ 750 (US$ ~6.27)/kg.
