Undersecretary of Fisheries should become Ministry
According to the financial journal Estrategia, there is a chance that Subpesca could depend from the Ministry of Agriculture in the near future instead of the Ministry of Economy, from which currently depends.
If so, Pablo Galilea considers that Subpesca should become a Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture. He also commented that there is a project at the Ministry General Secretariat of the Presidency in order to evaluate this possibility.
So far, the Government has no plans regarding this subject. However, several Governing party's parliamentarians are in favor of this chance. "The president of the Fisheries Commission of the Congress, Jorge Ulloa, proposed me to relaunch this idea,” Pablo Galilea said.
