Besides, he thinks that the current divisions inside the industry are a sad spectacle and announced a campaign to re-captivate those companies that have recently resigned to the Association of the Chilean Salmon Industry (SalmonChile).

Álvaro Jiménez said that those divisions inside SalmonChile are explained due to the strict self-regulations established by the guild with the support of its members during the crisis, related to aspects such as roe imports, minimum distances between sites and farming densities, which helped the industry to recover quickly.

According to the local newspaper La Tercera, Mr Jiménez believes that now that the crisis is being left behind, some companies are differing because those self-regulations are uncomfortable for them.

He also stated that it would be disloyal competition to have some companies regulated by the standards of SalmonChile and some others without the obligation to follow those voluntary measures. In that sense, Álvaro Jiménez announced that SalmonChile will run a campaign to re-captivate those companies that resigned to the guild once the authority enacts all the remaining regulations.
