Angus Bell, local buying manager for Tesco in Scotland said they are delighted to be launching such a range from WildWaters.

“Having visited the company recently to see where the salmon are farmed and the products produced, the enthusiasm and passion for the product is clearly evident from everyone involved. They are fantastic products and truly deserving of the awards they have received.”

In the short time that the WildWaters Smoked Salmon and Gravadlax range has been available in the retail market it has scooped two prestigious awards - the Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards – ‘Seafood’ category, and Fish Category of the Quality Food Awards in December 2009.

Managing director of Grieg Seafood Hjaltland Ltd, Michael Stark who produce the WildWaters range, said it was especially encouraging to be working with major retailers whom are keen to purchase local products and are prepared to come to the most remote part of the UK to buy an innovative new range.

“We are very proud of the provenance of our Shetland grown Scottish Salmon and our new WildWaters value added range. We are delighted to have received the recognition for our efforts in both the accolades we have achieved and the products being offered on a wider scale by Tesco,” he said.
