Stable performance for Scottish Sea Farms
According to the third quarter 2009 trading statement, released at the Oslo Stock Exchange by one of Scottish Sea Farms parent companies Salmar, Norskott Havbruk AS (the Norwegian holding company of Scottish Sea Farms) generated gross operating revenue of NOK 239.7 million compared to NOK 173.6 million in the same quarter in 2008.
Norskott Havbruk reported continued strong prices and demand in the UK and said the biological situation was stable.
The company harvested 6,700 tonnes gutted weight of salmon in the third quarter of 2009, compared with 4,900 tonnes in the same quarter in 2008. Volume guidance for 2009 maintained at 26 000 tonnes gutted weight.
Operating profit before fair value adjustment of the biomass totalled NOK 38.7 million compared with NOK 8.6 million in the same quarter in 2008. This meant that operating profit per kg gutted weight totalled NOK 5.77 compared with NOK 1.74 in the same quarter in 2008.
