Slight price increase in the US
The price is 25.2 per cent lower than in the same week of 2014 ($5.11) and 31.2 per cent below that seen in the same week of 2013 ($5.55).
According to the weekly report published by SalmonEx, the Brazilian market price experienced a slight decrease too. Fish of 10-12lb (~4.5-5.4kg), being the most representative, achieved $4.78/kg, 1 cent higher than the previous week.
Meanwhile, in the Japanese market, the average price of frozen HG coho salmon went up by ¥ 30 while the price of frozen HG trout experienced a ¥ 15 increase. The former reached ¥ 640 ($5.11)/kg, while the latter averaged ¥ 675/kg ($5.39).
