Shellfish conference is coming up
The first day, chaired by John Holmyard of Offshore Shellfish Ltd, is introduced by Michael Russell MSP and features a keynote speech on research as a driver for the development of the shellfish sector.
The first day's programme also includes presentations on a range of topics - from the European Fisheries Fund to new trends in shellfish production, by a range of international speakers from the Netherlands, USA, France and Canada.
The first half of the second day's presentations, chaired by Walter Spiers of Muckairn Mussels, are focused on water quality issues with experts from CEFAS and FRS addressing algal toxins and viruses.
The conference programme closes with a discussion on the future of the ASSG following the departure of its long-standing chairman, Doug McLeod to Australia.
