Securing Sustainable Economic Prosperity

Tor-Eddie Fossbakk A comprehensive technical, industry-oriented program has been prepared. Special symposia and workshops will highlight achievements by various sectors of the Canadian aquaculture industry with a focus on freshwater aquaculture. In addition, a trade show and an extensive social program will provide opportunity for valuable networking and knowledge exchange. Two post conference tours have been planned. The first tour is a trip to two state-of-the-art recirculation facilities – Smoky Trout Farms (cold-water trout) and MDM Aqua Farms (warm-water facility producing tilapia). A stop at a newly constructed mega-sized grain elevator (Agricore United) at Red Deer is also included. The second tour will be an excursion to the West Edmonton Mall – the largest entertainment and shopping centre in the world – to have a behind-the-scenes tour of the support system for their 5 acre aquatic facility.
