Scottish Government reinforces commitment to China

Reflecting on the past year where Scotland and China's relationship grew to a new level, culminating with a visit to Scotland by His Excellency Vice Premier Li Keqiang, Culture and External Affairs Minister Fiona Hyslop wished all Chinese people a prosperous new year.

Ms Hyslop said: "As the Year of the Rabbit dawns, we will continue to work closely with our partners to build on our significant relationships to bring mutual benefit to both China and Scotland. I wish all Chinese people good fortune and a happy new year.

"Without doubt we had the perfect start to the Scottish New Year when Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang visited Scotland as part of a high profile visit to the UK. Not only did this further strengthen the firm links we have with China across the business, tourism, education and cultural sectors but it was also a strong signal of the high regard in which Scotland is held by the Chinese.
