Sanitary regulation to be enacted this year
Among other measures, the RESA includes more strict definitions regarding distances between sites; farming densities; early warning systems for fish diseases; restrictions in the usage of lakes, river and estuaries for smoltification; and land-based production of broodstock.
According to the financial journal Estrategia, the undersecretary of Fisheries, Pablo Galilea, said that this regulation will be most probably enacted this year, considering how important it is for the salmon industry.
