Salmones Yadrán increases production by US$12 million
As an introduction to the not-so-heard-of company Yadrán, according to SalmonChile statistics, Yadrán currently ranks number ten in Chile’s top ten companies with the best record in terms of export sales. And, less than two months ago the ex- Technical Manager of Marine Harvest’s left the company to accept the position as General Manager of Yadrán. Thus it is not surprising to see that the company has big plans. In Aquanoticias’ explanation of Yadrán’s environmental impact statements, the company plans to increase its biomass production in five grow-out farms from 2,970 tons to 4,900 tons per year, and the target harvest weight from these farms is 4 kg. In a sixth farm, the company proposes to increase production from 300 ton to 2,800 tons per year.
