SalmonChile donated boats to afflicted fishermen
According to SalmonChile, this contribution is valued in USD 142,000 and is framed within the solidarity campaigns that they have embraced such as distribution of non-perishable food, water delivery and distribution of meals mainly prepared with salmon in the most affected areas of the VIII and IX regions.
The general manager of SalmonChile, Carlos Odebret, said that “as seamen we wanted to support the productive recovery of a hugely important sector of our country, the artisanal fishing. Besides, since it is very important for us, in a second stage of our project these fishermen will participate in training programs to learn how to fix their damaged boats”.
In turn, the fishermen’s representative Rolando Huechunao thanked to SalmonChile “who have put hand on heart and have helped all our workers to gradually get unstuck from this hard situation” he concluded.
