Salmon plant a 'health risk' to children

Alness-based Highland Salmon Products is in talks with Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) to relocate to one of their buildings when their lease runs out at their current premises in Averon Way, Alness.

They hope to move just yards down the street to River Close North at the end of the month. But residents living nearby fear the smell and waste from the plant will affect children in the Ankervill Nursery School which is situated through the rear fence.
