
Salmon harvests increased 59% as of March
A comparison of results itemized by specie shows a 62.5% increase in the Atlantic salmon harvests from 21,710 tonnes to 35,288 tonnes; a 26.1% increase in the Rainbow trout harvests to 39,928 tonnes; and a 135.6% increase in the Coho salmon harvests up to 30,802 tonnes.
Regarding local roe stocks, they totalized 45.6 million units in March: 65% of Atlantic salmon eggs, 23.6% of Rainbow trout eggs, 10.8% of Coho salmon eggs, and 0.6% of King salmon eggs. Meanwhile, roe imports totalized 51.8 million as of March, separated in 74.5% of Rainbow trout eggs and 25.5% of Atlantic salmon eggs.
