
Salmon harvests increased 55% as of July
A comparison of results itemized by specie shows an 84.0% increase in the Atlantic salmon harvests from 53,027 tonnes to 97,596 tonnes; a 16.5% increase in the Rainbow trout harvests to 73,839 tonnes; and a 121.0% increase in the Coho salmon harvests to 30,609 tonnes.
Regarding local roe stocks, they totalized 376.4 million units as of July: 67.3% of Atlantic salmon eggs and 13.6% of Rainbow trout eggs. Meanwhile, roe imports totalized 78.5 million as of July, separated in 61.4% of Rainbow trout eggs and 38.6 % of Atlantic salmon eggs.
