
Salmon harvests increased 49% as of February
A comparison of results itemized by specie shows a 22.5% increase in the Atlantic salmon harvests from 15,166 tonnes to 18,576 tonnes; a 17.8% increase in the Rainbow trout harvests; and a 133.4% increase in the Coho salmon harvests.
Regarding local roe production, stocks totalized 62.2 million units as of February: 79.9% of Atlantic salmon eggs and 20.1% of Rainbow trout eggs. Meanwhile, roe imports totalized 39.3 million as of February, separated in 66.4% of Rainbow trout eggs and 33.6% of Atlantic salmon eggs.
