
Salmon harvests increased 24% up to August
A comparison of results itemized by specie shows a 48.4% increase in the Atlantic salmon harvests from 76,428 tonnes to 113,391 tonnes; an 11.4% increase in the Rainbow trout harvests to 80,768 tonnes; and a 51.2% increase in the Coho salmon harvests to 31,647 tonnes.
Regarding local roe production, Chile produced 182.9 million eggs in August: 80.3% of Atlantic salmon eggs, 13.1% of Rainbow trout eggs and 6.5% of Coho salmon eggs. Meanwhile, roe imports totalized 83.5 million up to August, separated in 57.8% of Rainbow trout eggs and 42.2 % of Atlantic salmon eggs.
