Salmon exports have decreased 18% in the 10th Region
Besides, according to an exports analysis performed by the Export Promotion Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (ProChile), export of salmonids represented a 70.71% of the products shipped from that region.
The three main products exported from the region in the period January to April 2010 were: frozen Coho salmon representing a 17.52% of the total exports worth USD 140 million; frozen trout with a 12.44% of the total exports and worth USD 99 million; and frozen trout fillets with a 10.28% and USD 82.2 million. Together, those three products accounted for a 40.24% of the regional total.
Likewise, the main markets for salmonids exported from the 10th Region in the first four months of this year were Japan (49%), United States (18%), Brazil (12%), Russia (3%), Thailand (3%) and China (2%).
