According to the latest release of SalmonChile's market export analysis as of May of this year, the top four salmon producers have remained the same since the last report in March (“First Quarter’s Top Ten”, 20.06.07), and some new players have taken over in the remaining six positions. Marine Harvest continues as the leader, producing 27.3 thousand tons and generating US$ 177 million in sales FOB. Empresas AquacChile, composed of the three companies AquaChile S.A., Salmones Chiloe S.A., Aguas Claras S.A., and Robinson Crusoe y Cía. Ltda., produced more than Marine Harvest but earned less, with 29 thousand tons and US$170 million FOB. Next is Salmones Multiexport S.A. (also know as Multiexport Foods), with 12.7 thousand tons and US$ 87 million in sales. Mainstream Chile S.A. takes fourth place with 14.7 thousand tons and US$ 77 million in sales. Pesquera Los Fiordos overtakes Salmones Antártica for fifth place (by volume), producing 10.9 thousand tons and US$ 54 million in sales, whereas Salmones Antartica also generated US$ 54 million but with 9.9 thousand tons. Camanchaca S.A. remains in sixth place is with 6.4 thousand tons and US$ 52 million; and Pesca Chile stays in seventh, with 6.5 thousand tons and $US 32 million. Salmones Cupquelan, producing 7.6 thousand tons and generating US$ 28 million, took over Cultivos Marinos Chiloé for eighth place. Ventisqueros remains the last of the top ten with 5.13 thousand tons and US$ 28 million in sales.
