Sales of vaccines higher than expected

According to calculations made by Pharmaq nearly 143 million vaccine doses are bought for vaccination of the S 1 2011 generation already. At the same time in 2010 the total sales of vaccine doses for the S 1 2010 generation were at the level of 120 million doses and the completed smolt release ended at 139 million last year. Normally there is a reduced number of salmon smolt for vaccination in the March through May period, but based on the accumulated number of the 143 million S 1 vaccine doses ordered so far, it clearly indicates the direction of growth in this spring’s smolt release. In February sales of the PD-vaccine were 2.1 million doses and 1.1 million doses for trout. There were no sales of vaccines for farmed cod this month.
