Record number of applicants for the Nor-Fishing Foundation's Innovation Prize

Published Modified

This is twice as many as any time previously, according to Mr. Odd Berg, Director of the Nor-Fishing Foundation. Both Norwegian and foreign companies are among this year's applicants. The international financial crisis and the problems it has created with regard to financing research and development projects, makes the Nor-Fishing Innovation Prize even more important to the industry this year. Previous Prize winners state that the Prize has been a source of inspiration for the development work and has also been a great help in marketing. The Innovation Prize is intended to encourage increased focus on innovation, rationalization, quality assurance/improvement and enhanced profitability in the fishery and aquaculture industries. The prize is NOK 100,000 and a print by a renowned Norwegian artist, who is connected with the coast of Norway. The Innovation Prize will be awarded during a short ceremony at the Rica Nidelven Hotel on Tuesday 18th of August.
