Re-elected third period with EFSA

For six years Anne-Katrine Lundebye Haldorsen has been a member of EFSA's Scientific Panel on Additives and Products or Substances used in Animal Feed (FEEDAP). In June she started on a new three-year period as an elected member of FEEDAP, along with 20 others, reports EFSA in a press release.

- The work done by EFSA is both interesting and important since it is involved in establishing the scientific basis for EU regulations. Membership of the FEEDAP panel gives an insight into potentially hazardous substances in animal feed, says Haldorsen who is a principal scientist and head of research for the Programme for Seafood Safety at the National Institute of Nutrition and Seafood Research (NIFES).

- The positions are announced by the Management Board and appointments are made on the basis of experience and expertise in the area of risk assessment, nutrition, toxicology and number of scientific publications, says Haldorsen, pointing out that a background in the field of contaminants and nutrients in aquatic organisms is of particular interest to EFSA.

All of EFSA's panel members are professionally independent of the organisation for which they work.
