
Project to build new hatchery in the 12th Region
According to the information provided by the company to the Environmental Impact Assessment System (SEIA), this facility would be conformed by 11 independent production circuits for each species and stage of production. Each one of these circuits would have its own system of water conditioning and treatment.
The main purpose of this hatchery is producing roe, fry and smolts of salmon and trout, as well as eggs and juveniles of halibut.
This new breeding centre is expected to yield an annual production of 75 million salmon roe, 5 million halibut eggs, 15 million salmon smolts of 250 gr., and 1 million halibut juveniles of 150 gr. Meanwhile, the sea water capacities of this facility are expected to produce 1,500 tonnes of salmonids and 1,500 tonnes of halibut.
