Production of salmon retakes growth
According to the Federation of the Chilean Industry (Sofofa), this increased salmon production was one of the main factors that positively impacted on the local industrial production results, which experienced a 2.9% increase in November compared to the same month of 2009.
However, the industrial production indexes are still 5.1% below the highest results prior to the economic crisis, registered in March 2008.
Sofofa expected that this year the industrial production will be between -0.5% and 0%, while they expect a significant recovery in 2011, between 5% and 6%.
