Price and volume up

In terms of value, the exported volume in April represented 2,2 billion NOK, a decrease of 131 million NOK compared with April 2011. Despite the fact that the salmon price is lower this year, it has been a positive trend in April.

- Increasing demand for salmon throughout all our markets is the main driver behind this trend, says Paul Aandahl, senior analyst at the Norwegian Seafood Council.

Russia is still the biggest market for Norwegian salmon. Almost 15% of the total volume is shipped to Russia.
