Peruvians and Norwegians interested in Chilean companies
Humberto Speziani, representantive of the Brescia group, commented that all the conditions needed for mergers and acquisitions in the Chilean salmon industry will meet during Q4 2012.
According to the financial journal Estrategia, Mr Speziani added that in the last months of 2012 the scenario will be clearer regarding what players will enter the industry, since he considers that the price for those companies to be purchased is not the adequate yet. As a metaphor, he said that "the fruit is not ripe yet."
He denied that his company is already negotiating with Chilean salmon producing companies, despite the rumors about it. However, he said that the Brescia is not the only economic group interested in this business. He revealed that the Norwegian group Austevoll Seafood is interested too.
Likewise, the Chilean groups Angelini and Luksic would also be interested while the local salmon producing companies Acuinova Chile and Cultivos Marinos Chiloé expect to raise some funds going public in the coming months.
