OCEA Chile open for business
The holding OCEA AS celebrated with fame and flair yesterday the official opening of its new branch OCEA Chile. Previous to this move, the feeding technology company Arena Chile was the only representative of the Norwegian holding. Now with the addition of other affiliates such as Mercatus Chile, a software company offering an integrated management system for production, planning and financial analysis; Prona, manufacturer of steel and plastic cages, floating warehouses and barges; and Haug-Aqua Chile, a marine engineering company specialized in farm site anchoring, have formed OCEA Chile’s objective of providing a wide range of complementary products services for the local aquaculture sector, which will compete strongly within the market dominated by AKVA Group’s and other individual specialty companies. Hans Runshaug, manager of OCEA Chile’s establishment states, “OCEA has no doubt regarding the capacity and the potential of Chile’s salmon industry. We hope to serve as the best ally for success for those who’ve become a part of our group.”
