The launch into the supermarket chain in Ireland follows the brand’s huge success in both the UK food service and retail industries, where the company has won 14 awards for its taste, environmental and fish welfare friendly credentials. In a press release, the company claimed the number of restaurants and retailers taking positive action to develop and promote sustainable seafood policies were continuing to rise, and that consumer awareness of its importance had led to increased demand for fish from sustainable sources. Karol Rzepkowski, managing director at NO CATCH said: “Retailer’s efforts to develop and promote sustainable seafood policies have increased consumer awareness of its importance and, as a result, demand for fish from sustainable sources. We are producing NO CATCH…JUST COD to help meet these demands, developing the highest fish welfare and eco-friendly standards to ensure the best quality and taste. NO CATCH means cod can now be bought and eaten with a clear conscience.”
