New suspect site of ISA virus
According to Sernapesca, this is just a preliminary detection. Therefore, surveillance and control measures have been implemented in accordance to the precautionary procedures used in this kind of cases.
Suspicions over this site started after the results of random sampling controls made under the Sanitary Programme of Control and Surveillance of ISA implemented by Sernapesca. After this finding, Sernapesca ordered samplings on every cage in this farming site. Now, the institution is waiting for those results.
The suspect site (Bután 5) belongs to the salmon producing company Acuinova. All fish in that site have not experienced manifestation of clinical disease so far. Besides, fish is in good health condition and close to its scheduled harvesting.
If the results from sampling tests are negative, the farming site will maintain its category of suspect and would be subject of 3 consecutive samplings every 2 weeks. If results continue being negative after that time, then the site will return to its original status of surveillance.
