New site opens
The site, which is known as Maclean’s nose, has a 2,500 tonne consent and consists of ten 120m pens. It will be stocked with 750,000 smolts and fed through a C-Cap feed barge. The farm will employ six full time staff and two week-end feeders.
The site is at the south end of Ben Hiant, overlooking the Sound of Mull, a former stronghold of the Clan Maclean.
