New processing plant in Puerto Montt
According to the information provided by the company to the Environmental Impact Assessment System (SEIA), this project includes the construction of repacking areas, a 1,805 m² warehouse and two cold rooms (for 900 tonnes each) for the frozen storage of raw materials and finished product, respectively.
The construction of this building is expected to begin in early February 2013.
Intac Procesos decided to build this processing plant in the road to the International Airport El Tepual, located 14Kms west of Puerto Montt, because the company believes that this is a strategic geographical point both by proximity to raw material supply centers as to supplier services directly related to the processing line and marketing.
Moreover, the company expressed that the growth rates experienced by the city of Puerto Montt also ensure a competent workforce. Besides, on the way to El Tepual there is good access for trucks and other industries in the same or other economic activities, such as freezer warehouses and other associated services.
