Lloyd Purdy explained that as a Canadian-owned company (Cooke Aquaculture) looking to invest and grow their business in South America, “we look forward to Andrés contribution. He brings strong leadership and business and organizational skills to the position,” he says.
He added that this appointment represents a growth in their management team in Chile as he will continue in his role as Executive Director and will maintain a residence in Chile.
Andrés is a native of Chile and he has more than 20 years of management experience, most significantly as Aquaculture Farming Operations Director for Salmones Multiexport SA. Prior to that, he had 16 years of international business experience with RR Donnelley Latin America (Santiago), where he had achieved the level of Vice President of Operations.
Andrés earned his Civil Mechanical Engineer degree from Universidad de Chile, Santiago (1980 - 1987).
He and his wife, Paula, have five children ranging in age from 12 to 23.
