According to Multiexport, sustainable organic growth is one of the 5 fundamental axes in their growth plan. This involves harvesting 100 000 tonnes of salmon by 2017, with an 80% of Atlantic salmon as minimum in their product mix.

Some other fundamental axes are: remain as a leader in efficiency and profitability; consolidate the salmon industry via acquisitions; globalization of the company with a wider presence in different markets; and strengthening of the VAP division, especially through smoked products.

Multiexport was the largest producer of smoked salmon in Chile last year with 1,550 tonnes (28.3% of the Chilean smoked products) and followed by Marine Harvest Chile (1,289 tonnes), Cultivos Marinos Chiloé (1,026 tonnes) and Ventisqueros (971 tonnes).

As of July this year, the company continues in that position with 1,242 tonnes (34.4%) and followed by Ventisqueros (792 tonnes), Marine Harvest Chile (586 tonnes) and Cultivos Marinos Chiloé (552 tonnes).
