Multiexport smokes its opposition
According to a recent report, the company was Chile's largest exporter of smoked salmon in 2014 with sales of US$ 33.7 million. It was followed by Ventisqueros and the Mitsubishi Group, with US$ 22.7 million and US$ 13.6 million, respectively.
Japan received more than half of Multiexport's smoked products, with 56 per cent; the US imported 38 per cent and other countries 6 per cent.
Multiexport's smokery in Chile was designed by the Japanese firm Oji Smoker, and is capable of producing 7,500 tonnes WFE and has four separate areas for raw materials, curing and smoking, slicing and packing.
