Multiexport sales grow by a third
In a presentation shown at the latest North Atlantic Seafood Forum, the firm reported annual sales of about US$ 400 million in 2014 and products distributed in over 30 countries. The United States was the largest market for the company last year, accounting for 46 per cent of its sales, followed by Brazil (18%), Japan (11%) and Russia (7%).
The company produced around 70,000 tonnes of salmonids in 2014, 66.7 per cent more than in 2013. 87 per cent of that production was accounted for by Atlantic salmon, with close to 60,000 tonnes, followed by coho salmon with nearly 7,000 tonnes and trout with about 2,000 tonnes.
Multiexport expects to produce around 66,000 tonnes this year, representing a 5.7 per cent decrease compared to 2014, while this figure is edxpected to rise once more in 2016.
