Multiexport reported earnings for USD 31.8 million in 2010
The company explained in a report published by the Chilean Securities and Insurance Supervisor or SVS that this result can be explained by the improved margins obtained with Atlantic salmon, due to higher prices experienced especially since May 2010 and because of a recovery in the production costs. This recovery would be consequence of good productive results with Atlantic salmon, which impact both, the sold product amount and the biomass of fish in the harvest weight range by the end of this inventory.
Multiexport also recorded returns for USD 202.1 million in sales last year, which increased in USD 22.6 million compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, the company sold 30,247 tonnes of fish, itemized in 16,430 tonnes of Atlantic salmon and 13,817 tonnes of Rainbow trout.
