The CEO of the company, Andrés Lyon, commented that they are very proud of this achievement “which attests the commitment of our organization in the practice of responsible aquaculture. This industry and our company are key parts to sustainably solve the present and future requirements for food in the world," he said.

According to Multiexport Foods, this BAP certification is a significant achievement in the link between producer and consumer. It also fosters the leadership of the company which is based in five main pillars: community, environment, food safety, traceability and animal welfare.

The BAP standards address environmental and social responsibility, animal welfare, food safety and traceability in a voluntary certification program for aquaculture facilities. BAP certification defines the most important elements of responsible aquaculture and provides quantitative guidelines by which to evaluate adherence to those practices.

The Global Aquaculture Alliance coordinates the development of BAP certification standards for hatcheries, farms, processing facilities and feed mills.
