According to the company, these five cornerstones are: efficiency and profitability; sustainable organic growth; acquisition of operations in Chile; globalization of the salmon business; and expansion of its VAP division.

Regarding efficiency and profitability, the company declared it wants to maintain its leadership position in the local industry. Multiexport obtained an EBIT pre-IFRS of US$ 2.03 per Kg MP of Atlantic salmon in 2010 and expects to achieve an average of US$ 2.48 per Kg MP this year.

In terms of sustainable organic growth, the company expects to gradually increase its production from over 30 000 tonnes this year to 100 000 tonnes in 2017, with an 80% of Atlantic salmon as minimum in the product mix. This plan could experience a jump-start if the proper sanitary and market conditions are met.

About acquisition of operations in Chile, the company believes that the concentration of the production in fewer players implies benefits to both units: production (increased biosecurity and decreased costs) and marketing (more organized merchandising).

As regards globalization of the salmon business, Multiexport plans to expand its operations abroad in order to have a global presence in operations and merchandising.

Finally, in terms of enlargement of its VAP division, the company expects to increase the production of smoked and ready-to-eat products through its recently developed division Alimentos Multiexport. The sales target for this division is set in US$ 100 million by 2015.
