Its brief, focused sessions will deliver summarized data for top shrimp- and fish-producing regions, concise reviews of major global markets, pricing trends, and important discussions on industry issues and solutions. In a press release GAA Vice President Bill Herzig said "GOAL will offer business leaders in Europe and elsewhere a great opportunity to learn from each other and create new business relationships". "Importantly, this annual event will also bring us together as an industry to promote sustainability." Atle Eide of Norway-based Marine Harvest will highlight the experiences of the salmon-farming industry and provide a vision of aquaculture's future in the keynote address. Later, Dr. Jan Kwakman of Mooijer-Volendam B.V. in the Netherlands will discuss the topic of product contaminants during the sessions on current seafood issues. Dr. Viggo Halseth of Skretting will share his views on fishmeal production, GMOs, and other factors that constrain the aquafeed industry. During their recent trip to the GOAL venue, GAA Vice President Bill Herzig and GAA Marketing Manager Cathy Herzig called the Westin Palace conference hotel "an extraordinary hotel in the best European tradition" located "right in the middle of the best part of Madrid." They encouraged conference participants to make reservations early, since the Westin will likely fill during the meeting period.
