Sky high salmon prices
The average price fetched by HOG Norwegian salmon smashed the €5/kg barrier during week 48.
According to the latest Fish Pool report, prices last week averaged NOK 48.81 (€5.31) – up from 43.68 (€4.72) the week before.
In terms of volumes, 18,889 tonnes were exported in week 48, up 764 tonnes compared to the previous week, and up 438 tonnes compared to the same week last year.
Looking ahead, Fish Pool predicts prices to remain well over €5/kg for the entire first quarter of 2016.
