SSC reveals Mull fish escape
The Scottish Salmon Company has reported a fish escape from its Geasgill site, Ulva Ferry, Isle of Mull.

An unknown number of year-old salmon with an average weight of 2.8kg are missing, something that was discovered on August 15 and was notified to Marine Scotland on August 21.
Routine grading
A spokesperson for the Scottish Salmon Company said: “During a routine grading and counting exercise at our site on Mull a reduction in numbers was identified. We have reported this to Marine Scotland and we are investigating locally in line with standard procedure.”
In May last year the Scottish Salmon Company lost 300,000 nine-month salmon with an average weight of 623g from a site at Scadabay, Harris, in a weather-related escape.
