New workboats from Risnes
Risnes Marine Craft as delivered recently two work boats for aquaculture to Mainstream Norway AS in Finnmark.
Both boats are of the new type Risnes Boats, catamaran boats produced in aluminum and engineered to meet new and more stringent requirements to stability. On their way from the yard to the homeport in Finnmark, one of them will make a stop over in Trondheim, where she will be exposed during Aqua Nor, the worlds largest aquaculture trade show in August.
Mainstream Finmark has now 10 Risnes Boats, the two newest are the first in aluminum.
-We have a very dazzling collaboration with Risnes, and they always deliver a product in accordance with that agreement, says Hans Arne Sørnes, chief technology officer of Mainstream Finmark. He was present during the delivery, together with operating and service coordinator Omar Stig Hansen.
-Mainstream is our best and biggest customer. We have a good working relationship, where they contribute to a continuous product development of boats through feedback, says general manager Ronald Hellenes in Risnes Marine Craft as. Together with senior product engineer Ole Risnes he runs the Risnes company, which specializes in boats for aquaculture. A slightly larger hull is under construction in Poland. Also this boat will be outfitted in Sunde, and will be delivered to Firda Sjøfarmer.
Boats, “Kvitnes” and “Kvaløya” are 13 meters long, 6.5 meters wide. Each boat is equipped with two 270 hp Sabb Iveco propulsion engines, which gives a cruising speed of 16-17 knots. The boats are fitted with a 23 ton Palfinger crane, provided by Bergen Hydraulic. M / S “Kvitnes and M / S” Kvaløya “is the build number 190 and 191 from Risnes.
