Third final for Loch Duart
Loch Duart salmon has been chosen as a finalist of the 2016 Product Excellence Awards arranged by The Caterer – the leading trade magazine for the UK food service industry.
Now in their third year, The Caterer’s Product Awards recognise excellence and innovation in food, drink and equipment products within the hospitality sector.
Each product is carefully judged by a panel of judges who use the following criteria: taste, flavour, texture, aroma, ingredients list, innovation, design, best-practice, customer service, packaging, presentation and price to choose the winning product. The judges will also consider the nutritional value of the food and drink product and the success of achieving the supplier's own objectives for the product.
A good year
Loch Duart has already won ‘Export Team of the Year’ at 2016's HSBC Scottish Export Awards and been a finalist in the ‘Exporter of the Year’ category in the Scottish Food & Drink Excellence Awards.
Announcing the shortlisted companies, Lisa Jenkins, Products & Suppliers Editor of The Caterer, said:“The 2016 shortlist encapsulates the creativity, responsibility and originality in our industry. We look forward to welcoming our shortlisted finalists and their guests to the awards ceremony on the 1 December to celebrate their success.”
Alban Denton, Managing Director of Loch Duart, said: “We’re thrilled with the nomination. Our salmon is mentioned by name on menus of restaurants, hotels, gastro-pubs, pubs and clubs. The food service industry is a vitally important market for us, in the UK and our 20 export markets and is a reward for our constant focus on taste, fish welfare and sustainability.”
