Ventisqueros receives more financing
The aqua.cl newsite announced today that Ventisqueros S.A. signed for a long-term loan of US $57 million, provided by a syndication of banks composed of Banco de Crédito e Inversiones (BCI), Rabbobank, Banco Santander Chile and Banco Security. The financing will be used to provide for working capital in the mid-term and sustain the company’s long-term growth and investment plans. In 2004 the company received a five-year loan for US $20 million from a similar financial group. Ventisqueros is a Chilean and German owned company that currently has a 3,6% participation in Chile’s salmon exports, producing nearly 15 thousand tons and receiving approximately 40 million in sales. Besides the customary three species (Atlantic, coho and trout), the company is also the only producer of Chinook (king) salmon in Chile. Ventisqueros S.A. has a partnership with Cuisine Solutions Inc., a global supplier of ready-to-serve entrees, as their supplier for the company’s new 'sous-vide' processing plant in Chile, and ranks as number ten within the country’s top ten salmon exporters.
