Vaccine sales soar

The vaccination of the S1 2015 generation started this month, but the company says that it's still too early to conclude on the final number of S0 2014 vaccinated, because vaccination in September is a split between S0/S1.

The vaccination season for the S1s is calculated from September through May. However, PHARMAQ observes, if they compare twelve months rolling sales figures of vaccines to salmon, there is an increase of 2.5 % from 312.9 million doses per September 2013 to 320.6 million doses per September 2014.

Sales of oil-based vaccines to trout were 3.1 million doses compared to 3.9 million doses in September 2013. The 12 month rolling sales of vaccines to trout are 21.6 million doses. In September 10.2 million doses of the PD-vaccine were sold compared to 8.5 million doses in September 2013.

Meanwhile vaccination of lumpfish reached the record high number of 1.6 million doses. This is a new vaccine segment which PHARMAQ says it will “follow closely”.
